This was our first experience using a dog trainer, and now I wonder why we’ve waited so long! My husband and I adopted a 9... month old rescue that was extremely fearful of all humans. He would bark and growl when people came into our home and I was scared it would eventually turn to aggression. Jason was awesome, he immediately took control and worked with Max and showed us how to correctly work with him. Each session we watched Max’s confidence grow, with the power of place (among other skills) we were able to have family and friends over and he could stay in his safe place. He used to freeze in fear in walks and now he heels beside us like a pro. We even trust him off leash, which I never expected. We cannot recommend Jason and canine scholars enough.read more

Jason is a great trainer who can quickly identify issues with the dog and the owner. Years ago, he helped us find solutions... so we could keep both of our dogs, who were aggressive towards one another at the time. More recently, he generously helped us identify the underlying issues that need to be addressed with our current dog. I’m thoroughly pleased with my dog’s behavior after spending two weeks with Canine Scholars. Prior to finding Chris at CS, I... was seriously considering re-homing him. He’d already failed to improve after working with a different trainer/company in the area, he frustrated me endlessly on a leash, I had zero voice control over him off leash, and I couldn’t manipulate him no matter the incentive or treat. After practicing what Chris and CS taught him for a week or two back at home, I now proudly own a completely different pup.
